Low Speed During Use

Possible Causes

Network congestion: Too many users in the area are simultaneously using the network, causing excessive load on the base station. This often occurs during peak hours in densely populated places such as schools or office buildings.

SIM card plan speed limits: Different plans have varying speed restrictions. For example, some low-cost plans or plans that have exceeded data usage thresholds may experience reduced speeds.

Poor router signal: The router is too far from the device, or there are too many obstacles (such as load-bearing walls) in between. The 5G signal, in particular, has weaker wall penetration capabilities.

Device connected to the 2.4GHz band: While the 2.4GHz band has better wall penetration, its transmission speed is lower compared to the 5GHz band. If the router uses dual-band fusion (same SSID and password for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands), the device might automatically connect to the 2.4GHz band.

Device performance limitations: Older devices such as smartphones or tablets may have outdated wireless modules that cannot fully utilize the router’s high-speed network.

Solutions

Avoid peak usage hours: If slow speeds occur during congested periods, try using the network during off-peak hours to see if the speed improves.

Contact your carrier: Inquire about the speed limits of your current plan and consider upgrading if necessary.

Reposition the router: Place the router in an open, central location to minimize signal obstruction.

Switch bands: Manually disconnect from the current Wi-Fi on your device and reconnect, selecting the 5GHz band。
