Update: 2026-04-30 Preview:82 For:5G/4G Routers、
Quick Answer
Internet speed can be affected by many factors. This guide helps you find the cause and fix slow speed easily with simple steps.
Preliminary Checks
1. Connect your router to a computer with an Ethernet cable, then test the wired speed.
2. Connect a laptop or phone to the router’s Wi‑Fi and test wireless speed. For dual‑band routers, test both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
3. Move the router near a window or open area, then test speed again.
4. Test with a SIM card from another carrier for comparison.
5. If you have another 4G router, test and compare speeds on both devices.
Note: You can use a phone for speed comparison, but most phones support higher LTE categories (like Cat19/Cat20) or 5G. Devices with different LTE categories are not comparable for speed tests.
Troubleshooting Steps
Case 1: Wired speed is much faster than Wi‑Fi
1. Use only one device on Wi‑Fi, run Speedtest® three times (no P2P downloads or high‑bandwidth tasks), and save screenshots.
2. Check the wireless link speed on your device and save screenshots.

3. Check if the issue is on 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz. Use 5 GHz if your device supports it for better speed.
4. For 2.4 GHz: Change the Wi‑Fi channel. Channels 1, 6, 11 work best – try several channels.

5. Update your router’s firmware to the latest version.<click here>
Case 2: Both wired and Wi‑Fi are slow
1. Log into the router’s web interface, go to Internet Status > Internet, check Mobile Network, Signal Strength, and Access Band.

2. If the network is not 4G: Confirm strong 4G coverage in your area. Go to Internet Settings, set Mobile Data to 4G Only, save, then check if it connects to 4G LTE with good signal.

3. Try switching profiles in the Profile Name dropdown on Internet Settings. Or ask your SIM carrier for APN settings, then add a new profile at Internet Settings > Profile Name > Add New Options to test speed.

4. If your router supports manual 4G band selection: Change the band to match another working router, or test all bands supported by your SIM to find the best one.
