Keeping It Simple Through Powerline Adapters!

Most people may think why to opt for a Powerline network when the whole world is going wireless. Many of us already have a wireless network in their home these days. Does that make a wired connection an outdated technology?

Well actually, the answer is - No.

It doesn’t seem fair to directly compare Powerline network with Wi-Fi network as both of these networks are designed to work for and with each other. The Wi-Fi network is very dynamic whereas the Powerline network embraces simplicity.

Let'sunderstand what is Powerline networking?

A Powerline network is essentially awired network with (mostly) hidden wires. Let's say that you have your routerin the living room and your home office is upstairs. Now the only possiblesolution seems to run the Ethernet cable along way from living room toupstairs. Hopefully, you don’t trip on the cables someday!

The Powerline solution is less visible− a 'no new wires' approach. You buy a basic kit, which comes with twoPowerline adapters and two short Ethernet cables. You connect one of theEthernet cables to your router and to the first of the adapters. Then you plugit into the nearest power socket. You click the second Ethernet cable into theback of your computer and into the second adapter. You plug the second adapterinto the nearest power socket.

And that's it. The adaptersauto-detect each other (no drivers, no lengthy configuration process) andauto-connect, enabling data packets to speed from a router to your computer, traveling along the Ethernet cable, into the first adapter, across the electricalwiring in the walls, out into the second adapter and into your computer.

Using Powerline networking:-

As said earlier, it is not fair tocompare Powerline network with Wi-Fi network but on a narrow perspective, itdoes have several advantages over Wi-Fi, such consistent speeds, reliability, security and ease-of-use.

Powerline is a bridging technology, often useful for extending the reach of a home network to places where yourwireless coverage is poor, or where you need the fastest connection possible −a games console, a streaming TV or uploading videos on YouTube. It's also idealfor connecting old devices to the Internet that don't have built-in Wi-Ficonnectivity, avoiding cluttering up your living room with a tangle of Ethernetcables. Powerline is a neat and effective networking solution.

Tenda offers a range of Powerlineadapters, designed to meet your every specific need. Those of which are the PH6and PH10. PH6 is the AV1000 Gigabit Pass-through Powerline Adapter while PH10is the AV1000 AC Wi-Fi Powerline Extender Kit.

PH6 is a Powerline adapter designedfor 3D/HD video streaming and home entertainment sharing. It has the latestHomePlug AV2 technology. It does uses existing electrical that can offer atransmission rate of up to 1000Mbps. The Plug and play feature frees you from havingto set it up. Designed with an integrated power socket, PH6 will not decreasethe number of power sockets by consuming space to power-up.

PH10 is an AV1000 AC Wi-Fi Powerlineextender kit, with Gigabit Powerline speed and Gigabit Ethernet ports thatsupports 2.4GHz and 5GHz dual-band wireless to meet faster wired and wireless connectivity. The Wi-Fi Clone technology allows you to synchronize the Wi-Fi network name andpassword of PH10 with those of your wireless router at a press of a button, ensuring seamless mobility wherever you go.
